Bio

Ken is a North Carolina native and is currently living in Charlotte. He has been entangled in a love affair with music throughout his life. He was singing along with records as a pre-schooler, and wrote his first song at age ten. As a teenager, he learned to play drums, bass guitar, harmonica, and some guitar and keyboards; and over the years has embraced a wide variety of musical styles.
Most of Ken's musical life has been focused on the bass, playing in east coast bands and doing studio work. In the mid-80's, he left playing music behind to pursue whitewater canoeing and other outdoor activities. After 16+ years, he jumped back into music in 2001, focusing on the guitar and songwriting. He now performs in the Carolinas, playing his own brand of acoustic pop/rock, blues, and ballads, and writing both instrumental and lyrical music inspired by world events and social injustices, his love of nature and the outdoors, and his dreams/visions.
Ken released his first CD as a solo artist, First Descent, in Dec. 2003; an eclectic blend of pop/rock, blues, and jazz flavored originals.
His second CD, In My Dreams, was released in Sept. 2009. The CD is again an eclectic blend of styles, with Ken playing all the guitars, keyboards, and percussion. It features friends Patty Moore on the flute and Tim Lemmond helping with background vocals.
Ken's has two projects in the works; an instrumental CD and a Christmas CD. No completion dates have been targeted for now; both are on the plate for 2010.
Ken also plays bass and sings with the Alan Barrington Band. This new band is based in the Charlotte area, and brings a variety of original, folk/pop, and blues music to venues in the Carolinas.
